Gallop to decide whether Westover lines up in eagerly anticipated King George
A crucial workout will determine Westover's participation in a red hot renewal of the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
The Juddmonte-owned stayer is in the mix for next weekend's Ascot showpiece, which has an all-star cast. Derby one-two Auguste Rodin and King Of Steel, previous Epsom hero Desert Crown plus last year's winner Pyledriver are all potential rivals.
Westover flopped when favourite for the latest running of the mid-season highlight, after his impressive seven length Irish Derby rout.
Last seen taking the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud earlier this month, a trip to Berkshire would be a relatively quick turnaround for the son of Frankel.
"Westover had an off day in last year's King George – I'm not so sure we can attribute it to his two runs close together," said Barry Mahon, racing manager for the owner-breeders.

"He will work next week and we will decide then if he goes to Ascot."
Juddmonte sponsor today's Irish Oaks at the Curragh, where Colin Keane wears their colours aboard leading fancy Bluestocking.
The Ribblesdale third has a rematch with Warm Heart and Lumiere Rock, the pair in front of her on Royal Ascot's podium.
"The Irish Oaks has depth, there are some nice fillies in there," added Mahon.
"We are hopeful Bluestocking can improve on easier ground, with more of a stamina test – but she needs to."
