Stunning new $2billion theme park to open as big as Disney's Magic Kingdom
Hold onto your mouse ears, Disney fans, because a thrilling new theme park and resort is about to open which might shake up the theme park world.
The American Heartland Theme Park and Resort has just been unveiled, set to rival Disney's Magic Kingdom. This $2 billion project has its grand opening scheduled to take place in phases throughout 2025 and 2026.
The site will be located in northeast Oklahoma, just west of Grand Lake on Route 66.
American Heartland will consist of a 125-acre theme park – comparable to the size of Magic Kingdom – within a 1,000-acre development that will also include a large-scale RV park and campground, which will cover 320 acres and host 750 RV spaces and 300 cabins.
The 125-acre theme park will feature a collection of "six distinctly American lands" the news release states - named Great Plains, Bayou Bay, Big Timber Falls, Stony Point Harbor, Liberty Village and Electropolis.

A news release gave details, albeit vague, about what to expect. It stated: "The park will feature an Americana-themed environment with a variety of entertaining rides, live shows, family attractions, waterways as well as restaurant-quality food and beverage offerings."
“The scale and quality of the development will be unlike anything else in the region, making Vinita, Oklahoma a can’t-miss destination for families around the world.” it adds.

The plans look impressive (American Heartland Theme Park)It comes as Disney’s theme parks may be suffering from dwindling visitor numbers, according to an analysis that tracked one of the slowest Independence Day weekends in a decade, The Times reported.
The company faces a number of issues, including needing to cut costs by $5.5 billion and being locked in a legal battle with Ron DeSantis, the Florida governor.
Visitors to Disney’s theme parks have faced significantly lower wait times for rides in recent weeks, according to an analysis by Touring Plans, a company that tracks data from big amusement parks. Industry experts say shorter wait times generally mean smaller crowds.
Touring Plans said the average wait time at the Magic Kingdom park in Florida on July 4 this year was 27 minutes, down from 31 minutes in 2022 and 47 minutes in 2019.
