This Morning's Dermot shares hidden health issue - leaving Alison concerned
Dermot O'Leary revealed he has been secretly battling back pain as he discussed his experiences on This Morning today.
The TV presenter was joined by fellow host Alison Hammond and expert Dr Nadia to discuss back pain on the ITV show this morning, where they gave viewers the best tips and tricks to reduce pain around the back area.
As they introduced the segment, Alison said: "Now it's the most common form of chronic pain in the UK. Back ache affects more than six million people every single year," as Dermot raised his hand and admitted he was struggling with it too.
"I didn't know you were struggling with it," a surprised Alison said as she rubbed Dermot's back for him. Dr Nadia offered to help him with her back pain and urged him to come to her clinic soon so she could support him.
Dermot also revealed he had seen a physio therapist recently, who had been urging him to strengthen his back rather than just stretching. Expert Dr Nadia said there was a benefit to doing both, and urged people to both stretch and strengthen.

Dermot chatted with Alison and expert Dr Nadia (ITV)Back in 2019, Dermot opened up about his mental health, admitting he felt "very blessed" to not have struggled.
"I’m kind of lucky if I’m honest with you. I’ve always had a good structure around me and I’ve always been a cup-half-full sort of person. Everyone gets blue and I embrace it sometimes. It’s not bad to have blue days," he explained.
"We all have our ups and downs in life. But for the most part, I’m unwaveringly a happy, cheery person. I think a lot, but I’ve always been an optimist. It’s just something I feel very blessed with and I’m lucky it hasn’t affected me."
Dermot and Alison have worked together for a number of years, with him revealing one particularly stressful moment of their job.
"We have a moment where I have to pick a song and then she gets in early. She has to stay over on Thursday night because she lives in Birmingham, so I have to pick a song in the morning," he said.
"She’s in make-up before me in the morning. And the pressure of picking that song! I can’t even tell you."
