Beloved weather presenter dies suddenly just days after regular TV appearance
CBS weather presenter and meteorologist Elise Finch has died aged 51, her heartbroken colleagues have confirmed.
The beloved star, who provided the channel's New York weather updates for 16 years, died suddenly over the weekend.
Her last weather forecast was Friday July 14, two days before CBS announced her death.
"It is with profound sadness that we share news of the passing of our beloved Elise Dione Finch Henriques," the station stated.
"Elise was a gifted and consummate professional who took great care with her work. She was also a wonderful ambassador in the community, including her hometown of Mount Vernon. Above all, Elise was a fiercely loving and devoted mother to her daughter Grace and wife to Graig Henriques, who is a photojournalist at WCBS."

Finch's colleagues are heartbroken for the loss of their friend and coworker. Jessica Moore, a presenter for WCBS, was visibly distressed as she announced Finch's death live on air.
"There was no one like her. We're all gonna miss her very much," she said.
Moore also took to Twitter to mourn the meteorologist, writing: "Elise was fiercely loyal to those she loved, a straight shooter, a consummate professional, and made me laugh until I cried. But above all she was completely devoted to her family, especially her daughter Grace. I love you so much, my friend. Heaven now has an angel like no other."
Other CBS associates shared their heartbreak and sympathy for Finch's family.
Chris Wragge, a news anchor for the station, tweeted: "My heart is broken. Our team will never be the same. No one matched musical wits better. I'll miss you so much."
Another reporter, Tony Aiello, reminisced on Finch's love of music and said the "song of her life deserved many more verses."

Ali Bauman, a reporter for the station, called Finch a "friend, colleague, and role model."
Finch not only touched her colleagues but those from other news stations as well.

Sue Guzman, a news anchor for Fox News, tweeted: "Rest in peace, Elise Finch. So talented. Such an awful loss. Prayers to her loved ones. Remembering our beloved colleague Elise Finch."
Lauren Linder, a reporter for KDKA in Pennsylvania remembered when she was an intern for CBS, saying: "I'll never forget practicing stand-ups on a windy beach with Elise when she reported on disabled people learning to surf."
Dorothy Tucker from the National Association of Black Journalists, tweeted: "The @NABJ family is sending condolences to the friends, family and @WCBSTV colleagues of meteorologist Elise Finch. Our thoughts are with you at this time."
Fans of the meteorologist also took to social media to mourn Finch, one saying: "She brightened our day starting every morning."
