Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett has received yet more praise from one of his teammates.

The Steelers QB is getting ready for his second season in the NFL after being drafted with the No.20 overall pick in the 2022 draft. He was tasked with the responsibility of replacing franchise and league legend Ben Roethlisberger who retired in January last year.

Pickett played 13 games for the Steelers in his rookie season in the NFL. He completed seven touchdown passes and threw 2,404 yards at 63.0 percent.

The 25-year-old has already earned admirers from across the NFL, as well as within his own team. Replacing a future Hall of Famer is never easy for any quarterback, but doing so in his first years in the league has certainly made an impression.

Allen Robinson is the latest player to give praise to Pickett, despite only being a teammate of the QB for a few months. Robinson signed for the Steelers in April following a trade with the Los Angeles Rams, and is preparing for his first season in Pennsylvania.

The wide receiver has admitted that he is impressed with the leadership skills that Pickett is already showing at a relatively young age. “Coming in seeing Kenny now going into his second season, the command that he has for a second-year player is awesome,” Robinson told SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“I personally feel like you don’t get a chance to see guys that young with a command that strong as far as leading us, getting guys together, throwing after watching film. Across the board, he’s very experienced. It’s been fun to see and it’s been fun to be a part of.”

While Robinson was full of praise for Pickett, a similar sentiment was . The 33-year-old is also getting ready for his first year with the Steelers, after leaving the Minnesota Vikings after the 2022 season.

Peterson explained how the Steelers defensive line holds the key to the team winning championships. However, he added that will only be the case if Pickett continues to perform as well as he showed in his rookie year.

Speaking on the Jim Rome Show in June, Peterson said: "What it’s going to come down to is we have all the pieces that we need on defence.

"We know defence wins championships. We have talent across the board on the offensive side of the ball. I believe the front office did a great job of getting what we needed in the draft as far as getting Broderick [Jones] in the first round, a left tackle, young pup who you should expect to see play a lot.

"You added Allen Robinson, you got Diontae Johnson, you got George Pickens, you got Najee Harris. You know it’s all going to come down to how well Kenny can play and can he put the ball where it needs to go.

"I believe he is a guy that we can rely on, a guy that we can count on. Now it’s all going to fall on him if he can go out there and show us what he’s capable of doing."
