Creepy piece of evidence removed from Gilgo Beach murders suspect home
A mysterious and disturbing piece of evidence has been found in the home of the Gilgo Beach murder suspect.
The police discovered a child-sized doll with fair hair in a glass case while searching the childhood home of accused serial killer Rex Heuermann.
Heuermann, a 59-year-old architect and married father of two, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the deaths of three women found wrapped in burlap along Ocean Parkway on Long Island, New York.
The doll was found among other items taken from the house as potential evidence in the ongoing investigation.
The investigators carefully removed the doll from the rundown house, and it appeared to have blonde hair with braids, a red bow on its head and was dressed in a red outfit.

It has brought a mix of anger, grief, and the prospect of closure for the families of the victims.
The suspect has been accused of killing three women, including Melissa Barthelemy, whose disappearance sparked the investigation. Heuermann is also a prime suspect in the death of a fourth woman who went missing three years earlier but has not been charged with that crime.

Some victims have yet to be identified. While the arrest is a significant development, investigators believe that Heuermann may not be responsible for all of the deaths.
Two associates working in the architectural field that requested they not be identified made their way to Heuermann's offices when they heard the news - telling reporters that their work group chat was buzzing.
One individual who knew Heuermann, meeting him in a professional capacity at least 10 times, said the man was "always being kind of professional, but you knew something was off by the way he talked.
The suspect has been accused of killing three women, including Melissa Barthelemy (AP)"By being overly talkative." They described him as super social, always going out of his way to talk to people in the buildings and all those who he worked with.
They say Heuermann wasn't exactly annoying, but they found him to be a 'boaster' in group settings. "He was always promising to connect people, trying to help or promising he could help, but he would never follow through. He never actually connected the people he said he would. We've talked about that [quality] before."
The arrest has provided a sense of relief for the families of the victims, but questions remain about why it took so long to apprehend the killer. The case will now proceed to trial, where the families will have to confront the painful details of the crimes.
