EastEnders fans wowed by Gillian's real age in first look at Kathy's wedding
EastEnders fans have been left shocked after finding out Gillian Taylforth's real age.
Gillian has played Kathy Beale in the BBC One soap for several years, with a big storyline looming as she prepares to marry fiancé Rocky Cotton. However, things won't go to plan with the arrival of some shocking news during their wedding day.
As the show teased fans about the big scenes coming this week, fans took to social media to comment on "ageless" Gillian and they were left stunned when they realised her real age.
One fan of the show wrote: "Gillian Taylforth does not age. Love Kathy Beale, one of the #EastEnders originals!" whilst a second mused about Gillian's appearance: "She's always looked young for her age."
"How is Gillian nearly 68 and looks like that! Has she had work done?" another added, whilst a fourth shared: "Is Gillian Taylforth the same age as her character... She looks amazing either way!"

Kathy will walk down the aisle next week - hopefully! (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)A fifth penned: "Even at nearly 70 Kathy is still by far the most beautiful woman on EastEnders!" as a sixth added: "Kathy/Gillian has definitely got a portrait in her attic she looks incredible good genes i would say plus she takes care of herself."
Gillian previously opened up about how she keeps quiet about what's coming up on the soap, as not to spoil it for fans.
"I don’t say anything to anybody. It’s more exciting for the public if they don’t know what’s going on. Some of my friends will say, ‘What’s going to happen?’ And I go, ‘Oh I can’t tell you otherwise I will have to kill you’. That’s the easiest way," she shared.
She will also come face to face with Cathy Beale when Michelle Collins makes her long awaited return to the soap.
"The scenes between Cindy and Kathy are well written. I’ve been filming them and it’s been great. As you can imagine there are fireworks going off left, right and centre," she shared, before revealing of the upcoming Christmas scenes: "As a cast, we have got no idea what is going to happen. We have all sat around and pondered who it could be. We’ve all sort of worked out, ‘No it can’t be that one, no it can’t be this one, no it can’t be another one’. When we were at an awards the other day, I spoke to Chris and said, ‘I’m going to try and get you drunk so you might tell me who the killer is.'"
