Lionel Messi finally announced by Inter Miami as shirt number confirmed
Lionel Messi will wear his iconic number 10 at Inter Miami as the Major League Soccer club confirmed his arrival in Florida.
On Saturday, Inter Miami released a video in which the Argentina superstar could be seen wearing the club's pink shirt with the number 10 emblazoned on the back. The 36-year-old reportedly signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the MLS franchise.
Last month, Messi completed a sensational move to the United States as he chose to play for David Beckham ’s Florida club over a lucrative deal in Saudi Arabia. As part of his contract, Messi will reportedly receive a compensation package that includes part of Apple TV’s revenue generated by MLS Season Pass as well as a share of Adidas profits from his arrival in MLS.
Messi’s arrival in the United States likely eclipses Brazilian icon Pele’s transfer to the New York Cosmos in 1975 as the biggest in North American soccer history. The monumental move comes after the World Cup champion, who was spotted shopping for groceries recently, decided to leave Paris-Saint Germain after two years in Ligue 1 - and he is thrilled to join Inter Miami.
