Manchester United don't want to waste anymore time in making their second signing of the summer as they chase a new goalkeeper.

Erik ten Hag is keen to welcome new arrival No.2 following the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea last week. Now, United's new 'keeper is looking increasingly likely to be Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

That's because the long-serving David de Gea has become a free agent, and while United chiefs and his representatives remain in talks over a new deal, Ten Hag is being proactive by searching for a successor. Due to the club's potential Financial Fair Play troubles, however, they'll have to sell before they can buy big.

Here are the latest transfers news from Old Trafford.

Elanga, 21, has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford after struggling for game time last term. He played just 16 Premier League matches under Erik ten Hag and could be allowed to leave this summer.

According to The Athletic, Forest and Everton are keen to sign Elanga, while Borussia Dortmund and another unnamed Premier League club have expressed an interest.

The young forward initially broke through into the United first-team during the 2020/21 season under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Since then, he has made 55 appearances in all competitions but has just four goals and four assists to his name.

Ten Hag desperate for Onana

Erik ten Hag is desperate for Manchester United to sign Andre Onana before he takes his squad to the US for their pre-season tour.

United have still not agreed a fee with Inter Milan for Onana and are without a first-choice goalkeeper following David De Gea’s departure after 12 years. Talks between United and Inter are ongoing, with United not willing to meet Inter's £52million asking price for Cameroon international Onana.

United feel a fee of £45m is a fair price for Onana and are hopeful a compromise figure can be agreed before the squad fly to the States next Wednesday.

Inter need to raise funds to help them sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea on a permanent deal, with United confident that can yield an agreement on a fee for Onana.

United's opening bid of £38m was rejected, but Onana has told Inter he wants to reunite with Ten Hag - whom he played under at Ajax - while personal terms will not be a problem.

Morocco star Amrabat is among the names linked with United as they prepare for Champions League football under Erik ten Hag. The midfielder, who impressed as a youngster with Ten Hag's Utrecht side, is entering the final year of his contract at Fiorentina.

United's concern is a financial one, with a £60m move for Mason Mount eating into their summer transfer budget. Rice's imminent move to Arsenal, however, could pave the way for the Red Devils to raise funds with a sale of their own.

According to The Independent, West Ham remain keen on Man Utd midfielder Scott McTominay. The issue concerns the Rice move, with the Hammers said to be waiting for that deal to get over the line before making a push for the Scotland star.
