A body has been found in the search for a missing teenage boy from Manchester.

Eric Lin, 14, was reported missing from the Bell Crescent area of Manchester, near Beswick, on Sunday evening (July 2).

Cheshire Police began leading the investigation after enquiries suggested he had travelled to Cheshire on the bus. A number of appeals were shared following his disappearance, reports the MEN.

Greater Manchester Police have now confirmed a body has been found in Warrington in the search for the teenager - but added that formal identification is yet to take place.

Police said there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and that Eric's family have been informed.

There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances. A formal identification is yet to take place, but Eric’s family have been informed of the latest development."

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Davies of GMP City of Manchester North district said: “Firstly, our thoughts remain with Eric’s loved ones at this difficult time. Formal identification is yet to take place, so we would ask that they have privacy whilst the investigation continues.”
