Conor McGregor posts "destroy someone else's life" message after fans' concern
UFC star Conor McGregor has posted a cryptic message after fans voiced their concern about his fighting future.
McGregor, 34, is pencilled-in to make his UFC return against Michael Chandler at the end of the year but an official announcement for the fight is yet to be made. All signs pointed towards UFC 296 on December 16, but that date could now be in jeopardy as McGregor needs to complete six months of drug testing before fighting and is yet to re-enter the USADA testing pool.
The former two-weight world champion took to Instagram on Thursday to post an image of Hollywood star George Clooney with a quote that read: "When you destroy someone else's life with lies, take it as a loan. It will come back to you with interest." It also comes just weeks after McGregor was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an NBA game, an accusation the Irishman has vehemently denied.
McGregor filmed alongside Chandler for the UFC's reality TV show The Ultimate Fighter earlier this year and he is currently going through a dismal run of form on the show. 'Notorious' is without a win five episodes into the season as Chandler is edging closer and closer to a clean sweep over his rival ahead of their fight.
Fans are also sceptical about McGregor's comeback fight due to the lack of training footage on his social media accounts. The Irishman recently showed off his new beardless look, which prompted one fan to write: "There's no way this man is fighting Chandler going by his tweets and Instagrams."

"Even if he does fight Chandler at this point I think he gets knocked out. He’s just been out for too long and will probably gas bad. His cardio already seems suspect and that’s never been his strong suit," a second comment read before a third user added: "The Ultimate Fighter seems like just a way to keep his name and brands popular to get attention again, I don’t think this man was ever planning to fight Chandler."
McGregor hasn't fought since suffering a horror leg break in his July 2021 trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. There is still a chance he can fight in the final pay-per-view event of the year as USADA's six month window opens on the date of a fighter's re-enrolment into their programme, not the submission date of a first test sample.
