A heartbroken family have paid tribute to a “dedicated” dad after he was stabbed to death on a tram in a “bloodbath” horror attack.

Kyle Knowles, 32, was riding a tram into the Highbury Vale stop, in Basford, Nottingham, when the dad was viciously attacked and stabbed.

The shocking incident took place shortly after 11am, Monday 26 June, and passengers could only watch in horror as Mr Knowles, a chef by trade, was attacked.

One eyewitness described the scene as a "bloodbath" and recalled how "everybody was screaming".

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene.

Tributes have since poured in for Mr Knowles, who lived in Sherwood, just two miles from the tram stop where he died.

His devastated family described him as "a dedicated father and chef with a loving soul and cheeky character, who was yet to find his place on this Earth”.

They continued: "You’ve now returned to the place where stardust is made, reunited with friends you once lost.

"Left behind is a loving mother, father, three brothers and your children, who all love you very much, and will see you again one day.

"Until then, set the table and pour the drinks."

Witnesses say several people filmed the savage attack on their mobile phones.

One woman said: “I was walking nearby and just saw people dripping in blood.

“A young lad about 15 or 16 came off the tram and said a man was on the tram when he suddenly pulled a knife out of a rucksack and started waving it at people.

“He stabbed somebody and was going after other people. The lad said everybody was screaming and trying to get to the back of the tram to tell the driver to stop.

“The lad had videoed some of the attack on his phone and he showed it to me and my friend.
