A 13-year-old girl who vanished from a party 175 miles from her home has been found.

The Metropolitan Police launched a desperate manhunt to locate Carmelle Hepi before she was found at a property in south west London.

The teenager, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, had travelled to London to attend a party over the weekend before she vanished during the night on Sunday 24 June.

Her worried family reported her missing to South Yorkshire Police just after midnight who passed it onto the Met Police.

More than 50 investigators from across the organisation have been working around the clock since she was reported missing.

They worked closely with South Yorkshire Police, as they scoured hours of CCTV and followed numerous other leads.

Supt Gabriel Cameron, South West Command, said: “We are delighted that Carmelle has been found safe and well and will soon be reunited with her family.

“The scale of this operation reflects our serious concerns about her welfare.

“This is an example of how when the Met works as a team and with others we can achieve a great result.”

Four males have been arrested in connection with the investigation. One remains in custody and the other three have been bailed pending further enquiries.
