Liverpool are still on the lookout for midfielders, despite signing Alexis Mac Allister early in the summer.
The club's new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke is in charge of recruiting more players for the Jurgen Klopp rebuild in the off-season. James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are gone and at least one more addition is needed.
They are interested in Nice's Khephren Thuram, Borussia Monchengladbach's Manu Kone, Celta Vigo's Gabri Veiga, Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch and Southampton's Romeo Lavia.
Departures are also expected, with Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg, Caoimhin Kelleher and Leighton Clarkson possibly following Calvin Ramsay out of the door.
Meanwhile, the Reds have discovered their fixtures for the 2023/24 season. It includes a nightmare run during December.

Liverpool are 'very interested' in signing Paris Saint-Germain youngster Warren Zaire-Emery, according to RMC Sport.
Zaire-Emery is only 17 but the midfielder already has serious suitors, with Borussia Dortmund also interested as a replacement for Jude Bellingham. Meanwhile, PSG are trying to use him as a makeweight in a deal with Manchester City for Bernardo Silva.
Will Freeman has written a piece assessing what would represent a perfect summer window for Liverpool. Midfielders are obviously the key, with Khephren Thuram and Nico Barella the noted targets.

Liverpool target Gabri Veiga, who has a £34million buyout clause in his Celta Vigo contract, has insisted he's focused on playing for Spain at the Under-21 European Championship this summer.
“I’m not here to talk about my future, only my present. I want to be in the final [squad] of the Europeans,” he said at a press conference. “It’s been a bit of a mess. I left my [agent] and then I took some time off. I went with the one that I think is the best and I think I’ve matured a lot."

Everton chiefs face transfer backlash from fans after deadline day disaster
The transfer window opened yesterday and it runs until September 1 - but Jurgen Klopp has a different deadline.
According to The Athletic, in an ideal world wants business done by July 8, when pre-season training starts at Kirkby.
Liverpool target Ryan Gravenberch has admitted that he will push for an exit from Bayern Munich if Thomas Tuchel cannot guarantee him more game time next season.
“I just want to play more, preferably at Bayern Munich," he told De Telegraaf. "And otherwise at a club where I play 100 per cent. That is my preference. Because I don't want to have another year like the one I've had now. One season like that is good, I really learned a lot. But I just want to play football.”

Liverpool will kick off their 2023/24 season at Stamford Bridge against Mauricio Pochettino’s new-look Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will travel to London for their opening match against the Blues on Sunday, August 13. Liverpool will be hoping to start the campaign on the front foot after making a stuttering start last season.

The Reds began the 2022/23 campaign with a 2-2 draw against Fulham and things didn’t get much better with a 1-1 home draw against Crystal Palace then followed by a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Despite appearing to then kick into gear with a 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouh, Klopp’s side never really recovered. They finished fifth in the Premier League after rallying late on, but could not secure Champions League qualification.

Liverpool won't get last season back - but the lessons Jurgen Klopp and his men have learnt may stand them in better stead to take on rivals Manchester City in a fresh title tilt.
The Reds have been the only side capable of truly challenging City's dominance in recent years, with Arsenal taking their place in last season's race.
But while Klopp is still overseeing an overhaul of his squad, he will still feel confident his side can match up with the reigning champions when the new season gets under way.
Liverpool's first six games could be crucial to lifting the mood around Anfield, while all eyes will of course be on those crunch clashes with City, Man Utd and Everton when the fixture announcement drops.
