Anyone who's ever undergone an interview will be familiar with the stereotypical questions that you're presented with by your potential employer.

They typically range from your best skills, your greatest weaknesses, your history in the field of work, and so forth.

A man was dumbfounded, therefore, as he was presented with a rather peculiar question during the shortlisting process of a job interview.

Taking to popular forum site Reddit, the anonymous user admitted that he drew suspicion as the employee imposed a strict vegan rule within the workplace.

The employee questioned whether the candidate was happy to abide by the "strictly vegan" diet within the workplace.

Sharing a screenshot of the email communication from the interviewer, the message read: "Hello, Thanks for your application. To help us shortlist, please reply to the following questions."

They had listed a variety of different questions, which the Reddit user had scribbled out.

However, people are claiming that the evident question, which was left clear for Reddit users to read, was "so weird".

The question read: "Four. Our workplaces are strictly vegan. You do not have to be vegan away from work, but you do need to bring vegan lunch and have plant milks to eat on-site or eat lunch offsite.

"Can you confirm you are fine with this?" They asked.

Captioning the screenshot of the question, the Reddit user wrote: "Applied for a job, received this in an email. Can they really force this upon me or not hire me based on this?"

Since sharing the thread online, the man's post has received an excess of 10,000 comments to date - where people rushed to comment on the peculiar ordeal.

One person man: "Man. I'm vegan and have been vegan my entire adult life and this made me laugh so hard I spit up my herbal tea."

A second said: "That is so weird. Some startups really do the best they can not to hire, lol."

Someone else admitted: "I will be a worktime vegan if the pay is good enough."
