A woman working at Britain's most secure jail is under investigation after allegedly kissing Zara Aleena's killer.

The staffer at HMP Belmarsh has reportedly been arrested and suspended over allegations of a romantic relationship with evil Jordan McSweeney - who is currently serving a life sentence for murdering the aspiring lawyer in Ilford, London.

The unnamed 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and questioned over accusations of a romantic relationship with the 29-year-old inmate.

McSweeney was told in December he'd serve a minimum of 38 years behind bars for sexually assaulting and murdering Ms Aleena, 35, as she walked home from a bar in June 2021.

The predator was also seen stalking other women moments before he began following law graduate Ms Aleena, who he then proceeded to viciously attack.

Days before the abominable crime, McSweeney was released from prison for harassment and possessing a knife, and was described as "a danger to any woman".

Despite this and a history of domestic abuse, McSweeney was classed as a "medium risk offender".

The Ministry of Justice has confirmed an investigation was underway, but has declined to comment further.

A source told The Sun: "She was seen behaving intimately with McSweeney, who is one the most dangerous prisoners.

"Just look at his record.

"How you could go anywhere near a man like that romantically is beyond me."

The Ministry of Justice said it takes all allegations of wrongdoing in the prison system "incredibly seriously" with teams working "around the clock" to root out "those who undermine our exemplary service with their dangerous behaviour".

A Prison Service spokesperson said: "It would be inappropriate to comment on a live police investigation."
