A man has been found guilty of murdering three teenagers after they pranked him by knocking his door and running away.

Anurag Chandra, from Riverside Country, California, US was found guilty of three counts of attempted murder and three counts of murder on Friday April 28.

After ringing the doorbell in 2020, one of the teen boys allegedly flashed his bum at Chandra before running away.

The 42-year-old killer claimed he was extremely drunk and became “extremely, extremely mad” so chased after the teens, who were driving, in his own car.

He followed the boys before running their Toyota Prius off the road, which slammed into a tree in Temescal Valley, killing three of them

Chandra admitted to driving at speeds of up to 99 miles per hour moments before the crash.

Another three boys were injured.

He previously claimed he had worried for his family’s safety so he decided to chase after the teenagers.

After the crash Chandra fled the scene and later claimed he did not think that anyone was injured.

According to reports by Riverside Press-Enterprise, the suspect claimed he did not plan to crash into the boys or run them off the road.

Victims Daniel Hawkins, Drake Ruiz, and Jacob Ivascu, all 16, died from their injuries.

The driver, who was 18, survived, along with two 13-year-old passengers.

The friends had dared one boy to either jump into a pool at night or play "ding dong ditch", a game that has different names around the world but involves ringing a house doorbell before running away.

Chandra was previously accused of a domestic violence incident in 2020 before the fatal crash.

“The murder of these young men was a horrendous and senseless tragedy for our community,” District Attorney Mike Hestrin said in a statement.
