Family of dog walker found dead in Snowdonia pay tribute to their 'angel'
Tributes have been paid to a woman who went missing while walking her dog in Snowdonia who is now "off on another adventure".
Ausra Plungiene, 56, from Prestatyn, North Wales, was last seen on April 11 when she is left for a walk with her dog Eyora in Eryri national park .
Her body was later found near Yr Aryg in the Carneddau mountain range, by rescue teams, according to North Wales Police and Eyora, a black Swedish lapphund, was found alive at the location.
In a statement released this evening, Ausra’s family said: “All of our family would like to thank everyone for their support, love and good wishes that they have given us over the last few horrific days. Friends, family, work colleagues and complete strangers, all have supported us.

“We cannot express enough thanks to so many people that gave up their time to search for our beloved Ausra.
“The police and all their work in front and behind the scenes to trace activities, look after us, support and advise us has been truly remarkable.
“The mountain rescue service, RAF, support helicopters, army and every single individual that we cannot name tried their hardest to find her, through at times very difficult conditions.

“Ausra is off on another adventure, and we are sure the lives she touched while this angel was with us have been enhanced.”
Search teams worked through snow and gale force winds in the search Ausra.
Ausra was an experienced hiker (Facebook)She is understood to have been heading for a walk in Snowdonia, but her family alerted police at around 10pm when she failed to return home.
Her car was located by officers during the early hours of the following morning.
In an earlier appeal, her daughter begged for help in 'bringing her mummy home' as she appealed to the public.

Her disappearance came as overnight temperatures plunged to almost zero degrees amid a yellow weather warning across parts of Wales for wind, rain and snow on higher ground.
