Police have charged a man with the attempted murders of two people who were set on fire in separate incidents in London and Birmingham.

Two men were sprayed with a substance and set alight in separate incidents over a month apart in Ealing and Birmingham on 27 February and 20 March, West Midlands Police have said.

Both men had been walking home from their local mosques at the time, it was reported.

Both were taken to hospital and treated for burns.

A Birmingham man was arrested this week in connection with the incidents in Edgbaston, Birmingham, and Ealing, west London.
