Gerard Piqué says he's 'very happy' after splitting from Shakira and moving on
Gerard Piqué has said that he's "very happy" with the changes in his life after splitting from Shakira and moving on with new girlfriend Clara Chia.
The former footballer has opened up about the last few rocky months he's been through which saw him split from the Columbian singer and retire from football.
The 36-year-old has received public backlash after revealing he was in a new relationship with 23-year-old Clara.
In an interview over the weekend, Gerard was asked how he had been since the breakup but he shutdown certain questions, saying he "didn't feel like" answering them.
He said: "Each parent has the responsibility to try to do the best for their children."

He added: "The day I die, I will look behind me and I hope to have done everything I wanted. I want to be true to myself. I’m not going to spend money on cleaning up my image."
The star acknowledged there had been "changes" in his life but says he knows how to "maintain" his happiness.

The diss track TQD makes multiple references to Gerard and his new girlfriend.
Pique was asked on a Spanish radio show if he has heard his ex Shakira's new song when he said "Yes, obviously".
It has been reported that Shakira is getting ready to move to Miami with their sons.

"Our sole objective is to provide them with the upmost security and protection, and we trust that their privacy will be respected."
It is not known when Shakira will be moving to the US.
