Justin Bieber shares health update after facial paralysis due to condition

Justin Bieber has shared an update on his recovery after announcing that he was experiencing facial paralysis due to Ramsay Hunt syndrome last year.

The singer, 29, shared in June last year that he had the condition - which is understood to affect facial nerves - and told fans that he had "full paralysis" on one side of his face.

Since the announcement, Justin has performed on some ocassions but cancelled a number of tour dates last year and has recently cancelled the remainder of his tour.

He now appears to have provided fans with an update on his recovery from the condition - which he had previously said had left him unable to smile on one side of his face.

Justin took to his Instagram Story on Wednesday (March 15) to share a video of himself. It showed the performer sat in a hoodie alongside the caption: "Wait for it..."

The Grammy Award winner seems to smile from ear-to-ear at the end of the recently uploaded clip, suggesting that he has regained mobility in his face.

The video - which was shared with his fans on the platform - had featured the song Ice T by singer-songwriter Tems, 27.

Justin announced that he had Ramsay Hunt syndrome last year. He had shared a video on the platform in which he had appeared unable to move one side of his face.

"As you can see, this eye is not blinking," he said, before adding: "I can't smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So there's full paralysis in this side of my face".

He told his followers at the time that was "[physically] not capable" of doing some upcoming shows. Justin added that he would be taking some time to "rest and relax".

Justin later performed at some shows having briefly resumed his Justice World Tour. He however went on to announce that he would be taking a break from touring, explaining that gigs had taken "a real toll" and saying he needed to "make [his] health the priority".

And earlier this month, it was reported that he had cancelled the remainder of the tour. It's been claimed that he was "left with no other choice" amid his recovery.

The Mirror has approached Justin's reps for comment.
