Strictly couple Nadiya and Kai share romance struggle while filming BBC show
Strictly pro dancer Nadiya Bychkova has spoken of how "special" it is for herself and boyfriend Kai Widdrington to work on a new dance show together - but there is one downside.
The TV star, 33, says she and Kai, 27, don't actually see much of each other while filming Strictly, but are excited to embark on their first show together this spring.
Speaking at the Together for Short Lives Ball, a charity fundraiser, Nadiya said on Strictly: "We don't really get to see much of one another because we are working with our own celebrities."
Talking to the Mirror, she went on: "You can be in a different part of the UK, and then you only see each other when you get to the studio, you say 'oh hi'."

The couple have been dating since last year (Instagram)Nadiya, who was partnered most recently with Bros band member Matt Goss, explained that during Strictly you work ten hour days, and Kai, who danced with Loose Women presenter Kaye Adams, was in Glasgow.

The couple, who began dating last year, therefore welcomed the opportunity to collaborate on their show, Once Upon a Time.
"That's very exciting because we get to dance together, we get to be together, it's very special," Nadiya said.
Kai, who attended the ball with Nadiya, added: "I have only been on Strictly for two season and I am already on a headline show with Nadiya.

"People were saying to me recently 'we have bought tickets' and I said 'you have bought tickets to see me?' I can't quite believe it yet. It's a really amazing thing."
Earlier this year while the pair appeared on Loose Women, Nadiya discussed how she introduced her six-year-old daughter Mila to Kai.
She said: "It took quite some time, honestly, it's not easy."
Gesturing to Loose Women panelist Judi Love, who has two teenage children, Nadiya said: "As you know you protect your child as much as you can.
"It took some time but he proved himself in all the possible ways," Nadiya said appearing to fight back tears as the audience gave an 'aww'.
The dancer continued: "Mile absolutely adores him," she said which even left Judi emotional as she smiled and held Nadiya's hand.

Panellist Kaye then asked Kai: "And what is Mila's nickname for you again?"
Nadiya and Kai faced each other in the dance off in the last Strictly series (BBC/Guy Levy)To which Kai revealed: "She calls me Kai Lemon Pie, she goes: 'Hi Kai Lemon Pie, bye Kai Lemon Pie!'," and giggled.
Gusing over his girlfriend on Loose Women, Kai said: "She is the best person I have ever danced with and I am not just saying that because she is my girlfriend."
Nadiya and Kai were rumoured to be in a relationship for a number of months before they confirmed the news in April.
Nadiya later confirmed that she had been dating Kai since January, after she split from ex-fiancé Matija Škarabot, 34, in 2021.
