Tottenham will need to overturn a one-nil deficit to progress into the Champions League quarter-final when they host AC Milan in the second-leg on Wednesday evening.

Antonio Conte's side trail from the first-leg in Milan courtesy of Brahim Diaz's first-half effort. However, Spurs will be buoyed by their performance at the San Siro as they created a number of chances to score and were unlucky not to find the back of the net.

Since the first game three weeks ago, Spurs have endured a mixed run of form. They secured back-to-back wins over West Ham and Chelsea in the Premier League, before then losing to Sheffield United in the FA Cup and Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Milan have won two of their three games since the clash and will be aiming to reach the last-eight of the competition for the first time in 11 years. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has only recently returned from a knee injury, was the star of the show back then after bagging 35 goals in one season.

When is Tottenham vs AC Milan?

Spurs hadn't lost in the four previous competitive meetings between the sides before the 1-0 defeat last month, with their most recent clash coming during the 2010/11 season when they met at this stage of the Champions League. Harry Redknapp's Spurs limped through 1-0 on aggregate after Peter Crouch's strike.

The only other encounters came in the UEFA Cup when Tottenham progressed once again in 1972. Steve Perryman had scored twice in a 2-1 first-leg win, before Alan Mullery struck in a 1-1 draw in the second tie.

Team news

Pedro Porro's impressive performance for Spurs at Wolves could see him keep his place in the starting XI while Emerson Royal recovers from a knee injury. Meanwhile, Richarlison will also hope to win his place back after Heung-min Son's anonymous display at Molinuex, with Arnaut Danjuma pushing for a spot in the side.

As for Milan, Ibrahimovic will have to settle for a place on the bench having only recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with Olivier Giroud expected to start. Milan have a couple of injuries to contend with, too, as Ismael Bennacer, Alessandro Florenzi and Davide Calabria all miss out.
