As we continue the countdown to King Charles' Coronation, it was revealed that he is planning the in the UK, the Commonwealth and to other countries around the world to "extend a hand of friendship and support.”

While it has been understood that the monarch will prioritise visits to Australia, New Zealand and a number of Commonwealth realms in the Caribbean, there are a number of countries that will also be high on the agenda.

The US is expected to be somewhere that King Charles visits quite early owing to the warm relationship that he has always had throughout his many previous state visits.

While his first official trip to the US is not yet confirmed, a close palace source revealed that plans are underway for the largest ever series of official tours.

In what will be a two-year blitz of foreign travel aimed at "extending a hand of friendship and support", it is understood that The Prince and Princess of Wales will also play an instrumental role.

Earlier this month it was revealed that The King and Queen Consort will travel to France and Germany between March 26 - 31 for the first state visit of the new reign.

“The visit will celebrate Britain’s relationship with France and Germany, marking our shared histories, cultures, and values,” the statement from Buckingham Palace read.

“It will also provide an opportunity to look forwards and demonstrate the many ways the U.K. is working in partnership with France and Germany, whether that be to tackle climate change; respond to the conflict in Ukraine; seize trade and investment opportunities or share the best of our arts and culture.”

The palace notes that this will be the kings 35th official visit to France and his 29th official visit to Germany.

The tour will last from March 26 to 31 and will take Charles and Camilla to Paris, Bordeaux, Berlin, Brandenburg, and Hamburg. While in Paris, the couple will join French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte to lay a wreath of remembrance at the Arc de Triomphe.
