A man in his 30s has tragically died after he was in collision with a car in broad daylight on a London street.

Police were called to the incident in Willesden, London, at 12:44 pm on December 3. The victim, named as Ruben Nunes, 34, was treated by paramedics but was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the crash, a 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody, the Metropolitan Police said.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said: “This is a distressing incident and we understand the concern it will cause for the local community.

“Our thoughts are with Ruben’s family and friends at this difficult time."

Williams said there would be an "increased police presence" in the area as officers carry out their investigation, adding: "This will include an increase of officers on patrol – please do speak to them if you have any worries or concerns."

He continued: “You can also speak directly to local ward officers by signing up to and using Met Engage. If you know what happened, or have dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident, it is important that you please come forward and contact us.”
