Met officer suspended after child abuse content allegations on Telegram
A serving Metropolitan Police officer has appeared in court, charged with allegedly sharing graphic messages about child sex abuse on Telegram.
PC Duncan Bouette, 38, was arrested at his Essex home by officers from the force’s Central Specialist Crime Unit on Tuesday.
Bouette is attached to the North East command covering Newham and Waltham Forest in east London.
On Wednesday, he was accused of two counts under the Obscene Publications Act.
Bouette appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
It is alleged that in Hertfordshire on November 18, 2024, the constable sent a series of graphic messages relating to the sexual abuse of children.
Between October 2 and 3 this year, he is said to have shared messages via the secure messaging app Telegram that relate to extreme, violent sexual practices.
A force spokesman said: “The officer was suspended from duty while in police custody and was remanded to court following the charge.
“As is routine in such circumstances, the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.”
