Footage captures a passerby on their phone noticing pieces of masonry falling - moments before the building’s façade collapsed.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident at 10am on Saturday.

Photos show large pieces of stone scattered across Bradford Road, which remained closed in the afternoon.

The two-story building, constructed in the 1850s as a United Reform Church, was most recently used as the wedding venue The Monal.

In a statement, The Monal mentioned a "minor incident" at the hall, adding: "The most important news is that everyone is completely safe."

It continued: "Our team is assessing everything to ensure the space remains safe, secure, and welcoming for everyone."

"We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this time."

The former Providence Place church was first listed in 1982.

Before becoming a wedding venue, the grand stone building housed Aakash - once thought to be Britain’s biggest Indian restaurant.

The Monal recently announced it had refurbished the historic building.

Following the collapse, the company stated it was "actively working to resolve the situation".

"We look forward to welcoming you all back very soon," it added.

This follows the collapse of a large building on Ryde Road, Brighton, in July.

Striking photos from the scene show the entire roof buckled inward, collapsing on itself.

Residents described hearing a loud groaning noise before a cloud of dust and smoke arose as the structure fell.

Fire crews responded with three engines and three officers, East Sussex Fire and Rescue reported.

A gas company was also contacted amid fears of an explosion - but engineers later confirmed gas was not the cause.

No casualties were reported.
