Oleksandr Usyk knocks out Dubois to become undisputed heavyweight champion

Oleksandr Usyk claimed victory over Daniel Dubois in a tense and spectacular rematch at a packed Wembley. The Ukrainian became the first undisputed world heavyweight champion in the four-belt era, taking the WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBF titles.

Before the start of the match, the national anthem of Ukraine was performed a cappella by Nadiya Dorofeyeva. It was very powerful!

Oleksandr himself entered the ring first to "Ave Maria" performed by Tommee Profitt and Stanaj - a modern interpretation of the classical prayer, which seamlessly transitioned into Vasyl Zhadan’s song "Brattia" - a track associated by millions with Usyk’s entrance to the fight.

The fight began with the expected pressure from Dubois. Remembering the controversial low blow moment from the first fight, the Briton attempted from the early rounds to work on the Ukrainian’s body, using his advantage in size. Usyk, for his part, acted cautiously, working on his feet. The first three rounds were more of a tactical struggle, but Usyk was nevertheless more convincing.

The turning point of the fight came in the fifth round. Oleksandr found his rhythm and began breaking down the Briton’s defense with his signature multi-punch combinations. The speed and boxing intelligence of the Ukrainian became an insolvable challenge for Dubois. The Briton began to receive more and more clean punches, slow down, and lose confidence. This led to two knockdowns and a knockout!
