Jeff Bezos rented an entire island in Venice for his lavish wedding
The wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sánchez will take place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, known for its stunning basilica and historic monastery.
The Sun reports that, according to a source, Bezos and Sánchez have chosen this exclusive location for their ceremony—an ideal choice for the billionaire, who clearly wishes to avoid swarms of paparazzi and onlookers during the event.

The couple’s wedding is expected to be the most extravagant and luxurious celebration of the summer, taking place in Italy from June 24 to 26.
“This isn’t a typical wedding venue—it would be something iconic. Everyone is talking about the wedding, and it’s going to be a grand affair,” a source said.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez, along with about 200 guests, have booked rooms in some of Venice’s most luxurious hotels, and Bezos’s $500 million megayacht is also set to play a central role in the festivities.
Maurizio Cerón, CEO of the Venice Council, previously told reporters that he personally lobbied the couple to hold the wedding in the city.

“Seven months ago, Domenico Dolce told me Bezos was getting married. I got to work on bringing the wedding of the century to Venice — that’s how it all began,” revealed Maurizio Cerón, CEO of the Venice Council.
Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro made a statement clarifying that the couple has not reserved all of the city’s water taxis, as previously rumored.
“Only 200 guests will be invited, so Venice will easily accommodate such an event without causing disruption to the city, its residents, or tourists,” the mayor said, adding that Venice has hosted far larger events than the billionaire’s wedding.
The couple has invited a host of celebrities, close friends, and family members to witness them say “I do.”
Among the expected guests:
Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom and fiancée Katy Perry, and Ivanka Trump with husband Jared Kushner.
Even U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly on the guest list.
Top hotels in Venice — including The Aman Venice, Belmond Hotel Cipriani, St. Regis Venice, and Gritti Palace — are said to be nearly fully booked for late June.
According to insiders, Bezos and Sánchez have reserved the Grand Canal Suite at the Aman Hotel for themselves, priced at $11,600 per night.
