Murder in Haydock: woman arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing a man
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death at a flat in Merseyside.
The 39-year-old, from Billinge, was taken into custody following an incident inside a block of flats in Haydock shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Friday.
When officers attended the scene along with the North West Ambulance Service, they found a man with stab injuries.
The man, in his 30s, has since died of his injuries.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: ‘A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed inside an address in Haydock yesterday evening, Friday 2 May.’
‘At around 10.25pm police received a report that a man in his 30s had been stabbed following an incident inside a flat on Sherlock Avenue.
‘Officers attended, along with NWAS but sadly the man has since died from his injuries.
‘A 39-year-old woman from Billinge has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She is still in police custody to be questioned.
‘We are in the early stages of investigating the incident and our enquiries are ongoing.’
