Meghan Markle's Suits co-star Wendell Pierce has revealed what really ended the Duchess' acting career, with a "bubble" being mentioned ahead of the massive shift in her life.

The 42-year-old was an esteemed actress before she married into the British Royal Family in 2018. She famously portrayed Rachel Zane in the hit television series Suits, with her starring in a staggering 108 episodes. Her contract then expired after the season seven finale. Very soon after Meghan's departure from her role as Rachel Zane in Suits was announced, she and Prince Harry announced their engagement. It is widely known that the British Royal Family has rules about employment and publicity, hence Meghan's retirement from acting.

And now Wendell Pierce, who worked with Meghan on Suits and even played her on-screen dad in the hit series, has spoken out about what it was like to work with the mother-of-two before she became a royal. Speaking on an episode of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?, he said: "The one thing that bothers me the most right now for Meghan is the fact that I know she would love to act again."

He also gushed over the Duchess, saying: "She's [Meghan] is wonderful. She's wonderful as both. She's the nicest person ever."

Wendell then talked about the last time he saw Meghan at work, providing an insight into the reason why her acting career really ended, with the reason behind this being a "bubble". Wendell said: "It was the last night of working and I said, 'Meghan, your life is going to change, and you're going to be in a bubble, but just always remember, no matter what, I'm your friend, you have lots of friends."

He added: "We're always thinking about you, we'll always be there for you. And you know, no matter where you are, always know you have a friend in me'." The Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry famously stepped down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020, just two years after they got married in Windsor. Since stepping away from the monarchy, the couple have set up lives for themselves and their two children in Montecito, California, with the couple stepping into the limelight more and more as they work on entertainment projects like documentaries and podcasts.
