There's nothing worse than tucking into your favourite flavour of crisps to finding half of the bag is filled with air.

One woman has shared her fury after opening a packet of McCoy's and finding only a meagre amount of crisps inside. It comes as Brits have been left furious in recent years after discovering some of their most loved food items are shrinking.

Shoppers have been noticing increases in the prices of everyday items at the supermarket, but they've also spotted that more and more items fall victim to "shrinkflation".

Some of the size decreases noticed the most by shoppers include products such as yogurts, chocolate, sweets, and crisps. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, an annoyed crisp lover shared a picture of the inside of her McCoy's packet, which was clearly pretty empty. There was just a handful of crisps inside - a total of 12.

The frustrated former McCoy's fan, known as Lady of Stars and Fir, said: "Hey @McCoys. Why have I bought a bag of crisps when it only has this many in? I counted 12 crisps in total (including the broken bits). Not very impressed."

Now the teacher vows to never buy the crisps again. Her post raked in over one million views, with others jumping on board with her outrage. "They really just think we're stupid," she added. "I won't be buying them again," she concluded.

One individual said: "Shrinkflation. They do that instead of putting up the price hoping you're not going to notice." Another added: "I bought the curry flavoured multi pack a while ago. You could have fitted the entire contents into 1 bag. I won't be falling for that again."

Another said: "I no longer buy them. It would be great to see everyone else stop buying them and other brands that do the same. The large plastic bags for such a small amount is fraudulent."

"Everything is getting smaller, lower quality and more expensive," another wrote. "Crisps are a rip off these days, it's why I no longer buy them," added one other. Another commented: "Paying more and getting less. This is what the United Kingdom is all about now."

A spokesperson for KP Snacks, who own McCoy’s, told the Mirror: "At KP Snacks we're committed to offering great tasting snacks to satisfy all occasions. Our packs are filled by weight rather than volume of crisps, but we’re sorry to hear about the customer’s experience on this occasion. We are reaching out to them to discuss further."
