Prince Harry has had “ample opportunity” to fix the “bitter dispute” with angered big brother Prince William.

The 39-year-old jetted to London earlier this month to be by the side of his father King Charles, following news of the monarch’s cancer diagnosis. Charles had told Harry in a private phone call about his health news, prompting a frantic overnight flight from Los Angeles to the UK to see his father.

However, upon landing in London, Harry only met with his father - who is undergoing cancer treatment - for around 45 minutes, and then flew home to wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the following day. Harry also managed to swerve a meeting with brother William, despite his wife Kate Middleton recovering in hospital after undergoing major abdominal surgery in January.

Royal expert and former correspondent Michael Cole believes Harry could have met with William while on his brief visit to London, and claimed William will be fuming over the lack of concern from his younger brother. He said the warring brothers are involved in a “bitter dispute”, and chances of them reconciling in the near future are “slim and none”. To add insult to injury, Harry took part in an interview with ABC News last week, in which he spoke about his father’s cancer diagnosis, but failed to mention his sister-in-law Kate.

“He had ample opportunity to say some kind of compassionate words about his sister-in-law Kate, Princess of Wales, who quite clearly has undergone some major surgery, abdominal surgery,” he explained to GB News. “It's no minor matter what she's enduring at this moment, and he's never offered a single word of comfort or consolation to her or concern. If he wanted to become reconciled with his brother, he could have said some words there.”

During the interview, Harry said he flew to the UK “as soon as” he was told about his father’s diagnosis, and said he “loved” his family. “The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I'm grateful for that,” the duke said. He also revealed he would be imminently returning to the UK to spend time with his estranged family “as much as I can”.

Michael also alleged Harry was “not given permission” to talk candidly about his father’s health on the American news channel, and there was no chance of Harry flying to Sandringham with his father after their brief meeting because he had other commitments, such as attending the NFL Honors in Las Vegas. “I don't think there was ever a possibility of him flying to Sandringham in the confined space of a helicopter with the King,” he fired.
