Fortnite update v28.30 is expected to arrive this week, but what's included and when can we expect it to drop? Here's everything you need to know.

The last Fortnite patch, update v28.20, arrived at the beginning of the month after some downtime and brought the Fortnite x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab back to the game. Not only were the skins of the four heroes in a half shell and April O'Neil brought back to the game, but a brand new event pass including the Shredder was included. While the event is still set to run for a while longer, there's going to be a brand new Fortnite update later this week, with a new season of Fortnite Festival set to be among the included content.

Fortnite update v28.30 release date

Although Fortnite updates are typically released on Tuesdays, we expect the Fortnite update v28.30 release date will be Thursday, February 22. Fortnite leaker @ShiinaBR posted on Twitter stating that Thursday is the likely release date of the next update. Considering Thursday, February 22 is the day the Fortnite Festival The Weeknd Pass comes to an end, this makes sense, but Shiina also noted that the upcoming weekly missions are set to arrive on Thursday as opposed to a typical Tuesday slot, adding more fuel to the rumour.

Fortnite update v28.30 early patch notes

While Epic Games hasn't released a full batch of Fortnite update v28.30 patch notes (and won't until the update has finally released later this week), thanks to the ever-trusty duo of the Fortnite Trello Board and the roster of Fortnite leakers on Twitter, we know about some things set to arrive in this next update.

The following notes are listed on the Fortnite Trello Board as "Fixed in Future Game Update":

Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thing dqxikeidqkikdinvWhy Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thing
  • We're aware that the Shuffle Loadout option is currently unavailable in the new Locker UI for players to switch up their look every match. We're working on a fix for this and will update you when it's expected to return.

  • We’re aware that Characters are not able to be hired. This is fixed in a future game update.

  • Ranked Solo Zero Build activation schedule is 1 hour behind of what is stated in the game. For example, the in-game client says NA-Central Ranked Solo Zero Build will be active at 9:00 AM CST, but it really activates at 10:00 AM CST.

Meanwhile, Fortnite leaker @ShiinaBR has possibly let players know about an upcoming collab skin that could be included in Fortnite update v28.30 via a tweet, with another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab skin possibly being included in the latest update. Considering the four titular heroes are already in the game alongside Shredder and April O'Neil, the logical conclusion to make is that the next Fortnite x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skin would be none other than Casey Jones, but Epic could swerve us all with a weird inclusion like Karai, Slash, or Venus de Milo.

Considering the Fortnite Festival The Weeknd Pass comes to an end on the day of the expected update, we're also expecting to find out what's in the next Fortnite Festival pass, however, Epic hasn't yet stated if passes will be a constant or special event (like event passes in the core game), so there's a chance there isn't a new Fortnite Festival event pass.
