This professional plumber has explained a quick and easy hack you can use that can easily unclog your blocked sink in just a few minutes, leaving it as good as new and your bank balance intact.
Dave took to TikTok on his account @dave_doc_diy to share his insight. The plumbing and do-it-yourself expert has wracked up over 232,000 followers on the platform from his easy-to-follow explanatory videos about how to fix common problems in the home yourself.

His sink-unclogging hack could help you fix the frustrating issue in just a minute or two, he explains, "If your sinks clogged there's a way you can fix it yourself. Do not call the plumber yet."
Dave explains in his tutorial that "the most important part to unclogging your sink is sticking your finger in the overflow. If you don't have one don't worry about it, but this is what's going to give us the ability to get this suctioned."
With his finger covering the overflow hole, Dave demonstrates that you should grab a sink plunger and, while the tap is running, simply plunge your clogged sink until whatever is trapped inside and causing the blockage will starts to rise and appear.
Without covering the overflow "that water would just be pushing straight up the overflow cover if I didn't have my finger over it," he explains as dirt, grime and as he put it, "nastiness" appear in the sink as he plunges.
"With just one minute of plunging I was able to loosen it all up, send it all back down the drain and this sink is running clear."
Other users who tried out the hack and commented on his post were impressed to say the least, with one writing "Spent so long trying to fix mine, this worked instantly." Another commented, "worked like a charm, much better than any drain cleaner."
