American woman mocks British Valentine's Day cards - but Brits hit back
Roses are red, violets are blue, it's Valentine's Day, and this card is for you - but are you a sucker for a soppy card, or a funny one?
There's nothing quite like British humour, and many couples in the UK would rather give their other half a Valentine's card with a funny sentiment, rather than something overly lovey-dovey. Do we struggle to show our true feelings? Potentially, but we pull it off with hilarity.
And that's exactly what Amber Kacherian found out when she was browsing through American cards, and comparing them to the ones sold in the UK, and she joked she liked the UK ones better.
In America, cards are adorned with sweet words such as 'You're still the one', 'Love is a choice, and I chose you', 'Love: When we first met, I remember not being able to take my eyes off you...', 'You are my happy place' - and they're also covered in hearts, with a distinctly red theme to mark the occasion of love.
However, the UK is a totally different kettle of fish, with more amusing words printed on the front. They included 'I'm not wearing any knickers', 'You make my willy go big', 'I bloody love you (now let's get naked)', 'You're a t**t, but you're my t**t', 'You make my k**b throb', 'Roses are red, violets are blue, I touch my willy when thinking of you', 'My c**k really likes you', 'Yours is the only meat I want to eat', '10/10 would s**g again', and 'I've got a huge hardon for you'.
'I don't want children staying up late at weekends - I really need adult time'
While the British cards are certainly more crude, they speak to a certain sense of humour, and in the TikTok, Amber jokingly looked disgusted at the cards and walked away from them in a huff.
In the comments, British people joked that this video had made them "Proud to be British", with someone else saying it was "British humour at its finest." "Brits do everything better", another quipped, with a TikToker saying: "Alright, Brits win this round."
Other people shared cards they'd bought or received for the special occasion, and one woman penned: "UK here. I got my last boyfriend one that said 'I knew I loved you when I farted and you didn't run away'." Another shared they received a card that read: "You were supposed to be a one-night stand."
