Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new website has been defended by their team, who claim they have every right to use the Sussex title as 'it's their name'.

The fresh row in the royal family comes as the new website has launched and is operated by "The Office of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex" and is a 'one-stop shop' for all their activities. Whilst the couple have had websites before, this time it's the use of their Sussex titles that is thought to be the cause of concern.

Their previous sussexroyal.com website was launched after they stepped back from the royal family in 2019 and when they moved to the US in 2020 they then set up their Archewell Foundation and Archewell Productions shortly after, which will now sit under this new website.

A source close to the couple has hit back at criticism for the new website, as it told MailOnline: "Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. That is a fact. It is their surname and family name."

The comment comes after another source flagged issues with the new website to the publication as they said: "They are going to have real trouble with the use of Sussex. It is a royal title and if there is any hint of commercialism about this it will be shut down. It's just staggering they cannot see how gauche it is."

It is thought the Duke and Duchess will use the site to share their personal and official updates, keeping people informed through the "News" section. The website's "About" page reads: "The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is shaping the future through business and philanthropy. This includes: The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Productions, patronages, ventures, and organisations which receive the support of the couple, individually and/or together."

The website also lists each of Harry and Meghan's achievements as well as a joint biography, which reads: "They are committed to their mission: Show Up, Do Good. They hold the value that charitable work should not simply be 'a handout, but rather a hand held".

The new website from the couple could cause more issues for the already strained relationship between Prince Harry and the royal family, including father the King and brother Prince William, which comes after he is said to be 'determined to repair his relationship with his father, King Charles,' after his brief 24-hour visit to the UK amid the monarch's cancer news last week.

According to reports, Prince Harry is determined to make amends with his father, and has "reconciliation" plans to get things back on track. A palace source has recently revealed: "It looks like Harry may be learning his lesson … he really wants this reconciliation plan".
