Travis Kelce's multi-million dollar yearly wage pales in comparison to his billionaire girlfriend Taylor Swift.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was already famous before meeting the Cruel Summer hitmaker, but he has seen his celebrity status rise to stratospheric heights after his romance began with the pop icon last year. The Chiefs stormed to Super Bowl victory on Sunday night, with doting girlfriend Taylor watching on in the stands, with the hot couple sharing a sweet kiss on the field once the nail-biting game had finished.

Hours after the match was played, a video on TikTok began circulating, as it revealed the yearly wages of all the Chiefs players. Many fans were stunned to see the huge difference between each of the players, with some gobsmacked that Travis was earning $14.3 million (£11.5 million) per year. Despite being one of the highest paid members of the Chiefs, quarterback Patrick Mahomes took the top slot, as it was revealed he rakes in a staggering $52 million (£41.2 million) per year.

Players also receive a $164,000 (£130,000) bonus for winning the Super Bowl, while the losing team gets around $87,000 (£69,000). Users commented on the video as they shared their surprise at the huge paypackets of some team members they thought deserved to earn more. “The wage gaps in nfl is crazy,” one wrote, as another added: “Imagine being one of the guys making a million a year knowing that Mahomes makes 52x as much.”

While Travis’ base salary is over $14 million, he also has endorsements with McDonald’s, Nike, Bud Light and State Farm which bumps his net worth up to $40 million (£32 million), according to Forbes. His contract with the Chiefs is worth more than $57 million (£45 million), and made $3 million (£2.3 million) in other business ventures last year, before he started dating the princess of pop. Now, he could bump up his yearly earnings to around $5 million (£4 million), according to Forbes, and his famous girlfriend could help him take a chunk of revenue from Chiefs merchandise, as his number 87 jersey has seen sales rise by 400 per cent.

Taylor, however, has a net worth of around $1.1 billion (£871 million), and is raking in more than $13 million (£10.3 million) per stop on her massive The Eras Tour. It’s also thought she’s pocketing a whopping 85% of revenue from her world tour, and Bloomberg reported she’s earned around $370 million from merchandise and ticket sales alone, so far. The tour is set to conclude later this year, with estimates suggesting Taylor will have earned more than $1 billion (£792 million) from the record-breaking tour, and will double her net worth.
