Mum horrified as parents shave her young daughter's hair off without consent
The last thing a young mum expected when she left her baby daughter with her grandparents was that they would shave her head.
Grateful for their help with childcare, 22-year-old Tawana Musvaburi dropped daughter River off at their house as part of her 'normal' routine, but was horrified when she later received a video of the little girl's head being shaved.
In a state of complete panic, the stay-at-home mum couldn't believe what her parents had done, although her daughter seemed to love her new bald head, beaming at the camera.
When she confronted her parents, Tawana was told it was for "cultural reasons". According to Tawana, people of Zimbabwean descent believe that hair that grows while in the womb is 'dirty' and that shaving a child's hair will make it grow back thicker.

"I was so angry and annoyed as they didn't ask me," she said. "She had a small cradle cap and my parents said it was for cultural reasons."

Tawana has since made up with her family, who said sorry for going behind her back. She added: "My mum apologised afterwards and I have since forgiven my family and it's a situation we can all laugh about now.
"But I do find it hilarious that my daughter actually enjoyed being in love with her new look as she kept rubbing her head."
