King Charles' kilt-clad aide who has won a legion of online fans appears to have found new love.

Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Thompson, the 'hunky' equerry - also known to fans as Major Johnny - has been spotted strolling hand-in-hand with his new girlfriend, who is reportedly PR executive Olivia Lewis. It comes soon after the soldier, who is from the 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland and is often seen wearing a traditional kilt, who a promotion to become Charles' super equerry last year. According to the Mail On Sunday, Lieutenant Colonel Thompson separated from his wife two years ago and has been seeing Ms Lewis for around a year, with the pair being described as "well matched and very happy". Equerries are drawn from the armed forces and are required to assist the royals both inside their residences and when out and about on public engagements.

Meanwhile, due to Lieutenant Colonel Thompson's new role, he has been replaced by Royal Navy helicopter pilot Lieutenant Commander Will Thornton as the King's new equerry. His deputies are Captain Hugh Scrope, 27, of the Coldstream Guards and the first ever female equerry to the sovereign Captain Kat Anderson.

According to The Times, Captain Anderson, 33, an officer with the Royal Artillery, started her new role last month after previously working for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and is expected to be out and about with the King soon once he recovers from treatment to correct an enlarged prostate.
