One-month-old baby dies in 'unexplained circumstances' as police rush to house

A police probe has been launched after the "unexplained" death of a baby boy in Scotland, with a large police presence remaining on the scene.

The one-month-old fell ill and was rushed to hospital from a property on Tollohill Square in Kincorth, Aberdeen. He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he later passed away. Cops are now investigating and officers have been stationed at the property since Saturday as officers try to piece together what happened in the run-up to the boy's death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a one-month-old baby boy having taken unwell at a property on Tollohill Square in Aberdeen around 6:55am on Saturday, 3 February 2024. The baby was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
