A new supercomputer has predicted Liverpool will finish agonisingly short of winning the Premier League title this season.

The Reds are currently top of the division, though Manchester City can leapfrog them if they win their two games in hand. Boss Jurgen Klopp will leave Anfield at the end of the season, with his side dreaming of handing him the perfect farewell.

They suffered a slip-up on Sunday when they fell to a lacklustre 3-1 defeat to Arsenal. That result allowed the Gunners to get back into the title race and is now predicted to have a fatal effect on their title hopes.

The defeat was just their second of the campaign, but a supercomputer from OCB Scores has tipped them to lose twice more. That will leave them with 86 points, winning 26 matches and drawing eight in total.

They are tipped to finish with the same amount of wins as City, though the reigning champions are predicted to go the rest of the season unbeaten. That will leave them with 87 points, to win their fourth successive title, finishing just ahead of Liverpool.

While Arsenal are now just two points behind Liverpool thanks to Sunday's win, the supercomputer believes their title hopes will fade. Instead, they will be seven points adrift of champions City in third place.

Aston Villa are predicted to take the final Champions League spot, finishing five points ahead of fifth-place Tottenham. Meanwhile, Manchester United's disappointing season is set to conclude with a sixth-place finish.

The Red Devils leapfrogged West Ham thanks to Sunday's comfortable win and they are predicted to maintain their lead over the Hammers. David Moyes' side will be ahead of Newcastle though, who have endured a difficult campaign.

Another side who will be glad to see the back of the 23/24 season is Chelsea, who were well-beaten by Wolves on Sunday. The Blues though are tipped to recover slightly and end up in ninth place.

Down at the bottom end of the table, Burnley and Sheffield United are unsurprisingly predicted to be relegated. The Blades are tipped to finish bottom, while the final relegation spot will be taken up by Crystal Palace.

The Eagles are considering sacking Roy Hodgson after their humiliating derby day defeat to Brighton, who are set to come tenth. With Palace going down, Brentford and Everton are predicted to avoid the drop by the skin of their teeth.

The rest of the bottom half will be taken up by Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham. But the attention will be at the top, with Klopp missing out on winning his second Premier League title by incredibly fine margins.
