A famous TikTok couple "had the perfect romance" before the man allegedly stabbed his "kind and bubbly" lover to death.

Mateus Johannes, 28, and Claudia Kambanza, 22, wowed their followers with videos showing their supposedly perfect romance after they relocated to the UK from Namibia.

Claudia was attacked on Hinderwell Street in Hull at around 3am on Friday, January 26. She died in hospital a short time later. Johannes has been charged with her murder and being in possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Claudia's family said she was "a kind, bubbly and warm-hearted person, who wasn't afraid of challenges and always wanted good for other people". In a statement, they continued: "She always loved to cook and host people. She had an accommodative spirit and was a people’s person." Johannes appeared at Hull Crown Court on Tuesday 30 January where he was remanded into custody to appear again next month.

It is claimed the couple earned a large salary from sharing their relationship on the video social media app. In one video, posted to the couple's shared account, the pair show their followers a romantic evening at Hull Fair with clips of them kissing on rides and holding hands. Another video captioned "POV [point of view]: dating a Namibian gent" shows the couple having romantic evenings with cocktails and bedrooms strewn with rose petals and candles.
