River Island's 'flawless' satin shirt in 'print of the season' has fans swooning
I know we're still in the midst of winter weather, but spring is on the horizon and pastel colours and prints are already appearing at our favourite high-street stores. While River Island's trench coats, cosy knits and faux-fur jackets are still hugely popular thanks to the continuous chilly temperatures in the UK, the brand has got us excited for warmer days with the introduction of its gorgeous new springtime pieces in what has been dubbed as this season's 'it' print: marble.
Posting a series of videos on its Instagram page, River Island revealed a number of looks with the pattern - two dresses and a relaxed-fit satin shirt - as well as the caption: "You heard it here first: marble is the print of the season. Thanks for showing us why Iconic Islander Liz!"
And fans couldn't get over how 'flawless' the pieces are. The clips show a gorgeous shift mini dress at £40, which is perfect for date nights, birthday parties and other celebrations, a mesh midi dress, £38 here, that works for both daytime and evening and a versatile shirt for £35.
The latter is quite possibly my favourite as it can be dressed up or down super-easily whilst looking chic. Throw on a pair of light-blue straight leg or flared jeans, some trainers and a jumper for a more casual affair, or add wide-leg slacks, pointed heels and a bomber for work attire. You can even style it with your favourite midi skirt and a pair of stilettos for a night out on the town.
Fans of the brand are calling it a 'flawless' look, having flooded its comments section within hours.

With long sleeves and a button-up fastening, the shirt is soft and ethereal and will elevate any outfit thanks to its satin finish. Its sister product, the mini dress, features a ruched knot detail on the midriff that accentuates the waistline. The V-neck is flattering while cuff sleeves give it an elegant finish.
The mesh midi version of this dress is a gorgeous alternative for date night or weddings and features a stunning high neck and ruched sides to flatter your figure and a soft, matte material finish. There's also a long-sleeve top version (£28) for those who prefer a two-piece ensemble.
If these colours aren't quite your bag, thankfully River Island isn't the only high street store on the market offering this kind of print. Boohoo's abstract satin fitted shoulder pad shirt (£19) comes in a gorgeous combination of olive green, peach and white, while this Marble Print Long Sleeve High Neck Top In Navy from Debenhams (£38) features a selection of blue hues and gold.
