Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's £100m Netflix ideas have finally been revealed after the Duchess of Sussex teased "exciting things on the slate" last year.

When the Duke and Duchess stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, the couple signed a lucrative deal with Netflix for a reported £80m. Harry and Meghan's production company Archewell Productions then teamed up with the streaming platform to produce their six-part docuseries Harry & Meghan, as well as other documentaries Live to Lead and Heart of Invictus.

Attending a glitzy gala in Hollywood last November, Meghan walked the red carpet and gushed "we have so many exciting things on the slate", hinting that she and Harry would soon be announcing something. And now we finally have some glimmers of what the couple have been working on.

According to The Times Netflix's chief content officer Bela Bajaria has recently spoken at an event, revealing that the Sussexes are working on "a couple of unscripted things" including a film and a series that are all in "very early development".

Asked at a preview event in Hollywood what was next for Prince Harry and Meghan, she replied: "Oh, what are they working on? They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon."

She added: "And they actually have, like, a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a (scripted) series that they’re working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show and a couple of unscripted shows. But yeah, the movie’s great."

No other details were given, but the unscripted shows are believed to be documentaries, while the film could be the on-screen adaptation of the Carley Fortune novel Meet Me At The Lake.

This comes amid speculation that the Sussexes could jump ship from Netflix next year when their contract ends, in favour of Paramount Pictures, which follows on from their trip to Jamaica and appearance at the Bob Marley: One Love movie, which was courtesy of the rival studio.
