MAFS star unrecognisable in throwback photo as he shares update after wife split
Married At First Sight UK star Luke Worley looked unrecognisable in throwback snaps from 14 years ago.
The 31-year-old sales exec from Clacton-on-Sea in Essex shot to fame on the E4 reality show after marrying Lancashire lass Jay Howard. Though they seemed to be one of the strongest couples at the start, they ended up being kicked off the show after Luke had a fight with fellow groom Jordan Gayle.
While sales manager Jay hoped to carry on the relationship in the outside world, the distance between them was ultimately too much as neither wanted to move to different ends of the country. These days Luke is trying to pursue a boxing career and even offered to fight MAFS star Jordan.
Though their proposed bout has since been cancelled, Luke opened up in a Q&A on Instagram to give fans an update on what he’s been up to lately. Asked why he backed out of the fight with Jordan, he answered: “I didn’t. If it was up to me I would still be boxing him,” before adding, “Talking of boxing, 2024 is a big year for me.”

In another one with a similar haircut, he joked he looked like Zac Efron’s character Troy Bolton in High School Musical and said: “Dunno what happened to me tbf.” One fan asked him where his Valentine’s was with February 14 looming, to which he posted a photo of himself looking off in the distance on a hike in the hills and said: “Nowhere to be seen.”

Asked if he wanted children one day, Luke confessed: “I dream of being a dad all the time. One day hopefully. This is one of my nephews when I took him to Disneyland for his birthday.” Sharing a cute snap of himself as a toddler, he told his 156,000 followers: “Yes this is me... I still have that ring ready for my first child.”

In another photo he joked he looked like Zac Efron's character in High School Musical (Instagram)When another fan asked him what his type was, Luke replied: “I don’t really have a ‘type’ but there are things I’m drawn to in women.” He then went on to list: “1. A glow or aura they give off. 2. Sweet but fiery when needs be. 3. Natural or natural looking makeup. 4. Down to earth and not stuck up in the slightest. But being kind, caring and wanting children are the most important.”
Fans were sad when Luke and Jay didn’t work out and he later claimed the pair “never loved each other”. Cracks began to show when Luke hinted Jay was a bit of a pushover and told the lads he thought that even if he took another woman’s number on a night out he could probably get away with it.
After confronting Luke, Jay appeared to patch things up with her husband but the couple were then kicked off the show when Jay got in a fight with fellow groom Jordan. He has since claimed he was "blacklisted" from the show by broadcasting bosses and banned from the reunion.
