The heartbroken parents of a missing teen have made an emotional plea for their daughter to come home and her possible captors - as fears grow she was kidnapped by "older men."

Alicia Anderson, 16, from North Carolina, was last seen leaving her family home on January 10 at around 4.30 pm after the Ring camera showed her leaving the home to head to her friend's house for a sleepover.

However, the friend who was supposedly set to meet revealed she didn't have any intention to meet with Alicia that day and hasn't seen or heard from her since. Worried dad Michael Sullivan believes her daughter may have been captured after police discovered she had been chatting with older men on social media.

Alicia had broken her phone and not replaced it, according to her parents, but her friends revealed she had been using an old device instead. "They said that she had been talking to older guys on Facebook," mum Ashley Anderson revealed.

"I didn't think that she's been talking to anybody besides her friends at school, because all she had was a school tablet", she added. "She had two steady boyfriends and she would talk about them with me. She's literally not mentioned a guy in a long while now. So I didn't even think there were any guys."

Alicia was last seen wearing plaid red and black pajama bottoms, a hooded jumper, and a pink backpack as she headed out of the house. Mum Ashley fears someone has her, she told The Sun: "If someone has her, please bring her home."

"It's a lot on everybody and not knowing what's going on - has she been taken? Is she being held against her will? Is she a runaway?" Michael said. "That's the worst part, not knowing what level this is at.

"If she hears this, we just want you to come home. You're not in any trouble. We're not mad. We just want you safe," her emotional dad added.

Mum Ashley said her daughter came home after school on Friday for 20 minutes and packed some belongings, but never heard from her again.

Alicia failed to turn up at school on Monday and her parents were notified by her teachers. Her parents and two siblings are now desperately trying to find any information that could lead to her whereabouts.

"This feels like every parent's worst fear, and it's happening to us," Alicia's dad said. "You hear about this kind of stuff all the time, and you don't think it's gonna happen. Nothing can describe the kind of pain that this has caused us."
