Harry 'scared' by Charles' illness as family reunion could be on the cards

Prince Harry could have been "scared" by the news of his father King Charles' illness, with a family reunion poised to happen, according to an expert.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson previously said the king was "admitted to a London hospital for scheduled treatment", which came after the news that he would undergo a procedure for his enlarged prostate. Since being admitted on Friday, his wife, Queen Camilla, has visited him on several occasions.

When the news broke that the king would need treatment in hospital, it was reported at the same time that Princess Catherine of Wales had undergone abdominal surgery. A source then revealed: "The king and the Princess of Wales have received support from Prince Harry and Meghan regarding their health. The Duke and Duchess contacted both parties in different ways to pass on their concern and best wishes."

And now, as the king and princess both recover at the London Clinic, the world watches on and wonders if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from being senior working royals in 2020, will pay them both a visit. But according to PR guru Lynn Carratt, this would be "unlikely", she told us: "They are said to have already reached out to him and Catherine privately to show their support.

"When Harry learned of Charles's health scare, he likely will have given him a private call. Camilla is likely to be keeping them updated on Charles's recovery.

"Whatever has happened in the past they are still father and son and Charles isn’t getting any younger, and there is nothing like an illness of loved one to bring you closer together." Lynn then noted how Royals "typically don't visit each other in the hospital", noting that when Charles visited Kate in the hospital, "it was a big deal, so it will likely just be Camilla who visits Charles during his hospital stay".

She did however add that it is possible that Harry may visit Charles alone when he returns home, "but a family reunion would be nice," she added, going on to say it would be "especially nice" if Meghan and their children join. "I expect like in any family, Charles would love to see his grandchildren as it has been a long time. Charles's illness may have scared Harry, so let's hope this helps to heal their relationship," Lynn concluded.
