King Charles is currently taking a break from royal duties amid a planned hospital procedure to correct an enlarged prostate.

The King was due to undergo treatment this week after being diagnosed with the benign condition, which he was keen to make public to encourage other men to seek help. His short break from public life is unusual as he is known as a workaholic, however, he has been balancing his job as King with another very important role - being a grandfather.

The 75-year-old has five grandchildren and he has previously spoken out in the past about how proud and happy he is to be a grandad. In fact, one of the most adorable moments from the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 saw him allow grandson Prince Louis, then aged four, to climb up onto his knee for a cuddle as they watched the Jubilee Pageant together.

And it appears to Louis, who is now five, as well as his older brother and sister Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a special - yet unusual - name for their grandfather. It has been reported that the trio call him "Grandpa Wales" - a nod to his former title of Prince of Wales, which he held before becoming King.

The name appears to have been inspired by the children's late great-grandmother the Queen, who is said to have referred to her own grandfather King George V as Grandpa England. Charles' adorable name was revealed by historian Robert Hardman in the Daily Mail, where he also told of how bedlam descends when his grandchildren come to visit.

Buckingham Palace announced the news about the King’s health over a week ago, just 90 minutes after Kensington Palace said Louis' mum the Princess of Wales was in hospital. And last Sunday Charles'former sister-in-law, Sarah, Duchess of York was confirmed to have been diagnosed with skin cancer.

It comes after reports Charles has been urged to "slow down" on his duties following his health scare with Queen Camilla telling him to reduce his engagements in a bid to rest up. In the past year, the King has already undertaken royal visits to France, Germany and Kenya, on top of his coronation in May. According to The Sun, an insider claimed: "The Queen has told him he needs to slow down a bit.”

It's understood the King made his enlarged prostate diagnosis public to encourage more men to get checked out. The announcement clearly workedprompting more than 26,000 visits to the NHS England page on prostate enlargement in the following 48 hours - compared to the average of just 1,400 a day.
