Kid leaves family in stitches after ordering 990 Peperamis on mum's phone
One Dad managed to head off a national Peperami shortage after his son put in an incredible food order of 990 of the treats using his mum's phone. But the four-year-old didn't stop at meaty snacks, adding in hundreds of Bakewell tarts, ice lollies, and Viennese Whirls - as well as an awful lot of bacon, sausages, and a single bunch of bananas - a balanced diet is crucial after all.
While the order itself, understandably, raised eyebrows, what was perhaps more impressive is that Gareth's son even managed to bag a delivery slot too before his dad noticed what was going on and swiftly intervened.
Back in 2020, Gareth Davies managed to step in before his son spent £450 on the wide array of treats, - formerly known as Twitter - "My 4-year-old nearly caused national food shortage this morning."
"Got hold of mum's phone while she slept and ordered 990 mini Peperamis, and a combined 1,200 Bakewell Tarts and Fab ice lollies from Tesco."
When Gareth asked his son why he'd done it, he simply replied: "I wanted to have more food than everyone else."

As to how it would all be paid for, the son was more than willing to help out though.
"I told him we didn't have quite enough money to spend £450 on food and he said that was fine because he had some, and proceeded to pull 14p from his pocket," Gareth wrote.
When asked how his son managed to find a delivery slot so easily, Gareth replied: "No idea. He was very pleased with himself though."
A Tesco spokesperson told Mirror Money: "This rather unusual order didn't quite have all the essentials, but with weather this good, we think it might just be possible to get through 594 Fabs!?"
What Gareth's son ordered in full:
- 990 mini Peperamis
- 120 Viennese Whirls
- 594 Bakewells
- 594 Fabs
- 184 Oranges
- 11 packs of pine nuts
- 24 rashers of bacon
- 24 Cumberland sausages
- 2 cans of deodorant
- 2 packs of Frubes
- 36 packs of Mini Cheddars
- 8 fishcakes
- A pack of strawberries
- A bunch of bananas
Pretty much a breakfast of champions.
